Seems like a trend
Feb. 15th, 2004 02:55 amWell, now I get more technological issues.
Either my keyboard PS2 port is dying rapidly, or I got two keyboards that both have the same damn problem!
Personally, I don't think I could break two keyboards in the same way in less than a day, so I think the keyboard port is dying. Basically the keys in the keyboard don't want to respond unless pushed many times, and this happens in certain programs, not all, as I am typing here in my browser just fine.
And I tried the random silly dummy things, made sure it was plugged in all the way, restarted computer, put drivers back on for one of the keyboards, etc, still can't type in most programs (and its driving me nuts, cause IRC and things like MS Word and notepad are included in there)
Of course, I don't have money until the bank opens up again, and thanks to a stupid holiday on top of the evil one, the bank doesn't open til Tuesday, so I can't obtain a USB keyboard right now, unless I can find a place that will accept a check from someone with an out of state id (hmm, Wal-Mart might).
I am wondering if there is any way I can get the computer to recognize a mouse PS2 port as a keyboard one instead. The mouse one is unused, since I have a USB jumpy mouse, but the keyboard one seems to have gone wonky on me.
Oh, and any random Tremere players who IRC on my friends list, please pass the word along if anyone is looking for me. I can't type in an IRC window to even join a channel right now, so I can't get on obviously. And if anyone IMs me, please bear with me, as I am having to hit each key 3 times or more to get a letter, so IM is slow going and will drive me batty in a short time.
