WTH the forums are still down? This is really starting to get on my nerves, I'm really not wanting to be forced to edit on Monday (well, other than more job hunting). Sadly, I don't think it's going to be up until Monday and that's just really annoying.

Anyway, on another note, as far as the job thing went, couldn't come up with a reasonable way to get the money to cover the expenses needed to start that job, so I'm back to hunting for something remotely permanent and not completely crappy.

Though at this point, I'll accept temporary retail work or something just to cover myself for the time being while I look for something else. However, I did go browsing through Craigslist last night once everyone went to bed and have a big pile of things to apply or inquire about. Only problem is, a lot on there isn't quite stuff that I feel completely confident is legit, but I'm of the opinion that if I at least inquire about everything that looked remotely decent and one thing ends up being good, great. I only need one job, as long as it pays me enough to cover the bills, I'm capable of doing it, and its legal, I'm cool with it. One good thing about being a single girl with no kids, I can live off of very little. Most jobs around here pay at least $9/hr now which is my minimum. Anything that doesn't pay that much probably isn't worth my time because if they can't pay competitive wages for the area, then it's probably not worth it to even apply. Yes, I'm hearing even retail now is starting at $9/hr around here, turnover is so huge at most places that something is needed to entice people to stay.

I did get a good laugh looking at job listings last night. My old workplace has grown to pretty damn desperate for employees. I saw an ad saying they have 170 openings. When I started there were maybe 300 people in the position I was in. Wow, they lost over half the place due to that scheduling nightmare. Serves them right for not admitting to their mistakes and expecting us to put up with it. If anyone new to my flist wants details, just go back in my entries a bit to late September, I had some rather lengthy rants on how much they suck and just how shitty of a schedule they wanted to hand me.

As far as NaNo goes, two days left and I'm getting pretty close to the original 100k goal. Here's a new progress bar that covers all of yesterday:

Of course, do I have a clue what scene to write next? Nope. Probably going to skip to either Mt. Roneal or the core instead of the aftereffects of Sheridan. Both are actually taking place at the same time oddly enough. That wasn't planned, not that I mind, Mt. Roneal should be interesting with a small party, but I somehow ended up with the minimum needed folks to do a passage ring.

And of note, if by chance anyone doesn't know just how much writing that is, my Word document for NaNo is current at 153 pages. On average, I write a bit over 500 words per page, so I'll probably end with about 180 pages or so (taking an estimate of my 50k being at 90 pages).

Also, I do have everything that hasn't already been labeled to be cut out uploaded to Google docs which does allow me to grant access to viewing and/or editing by other users. If anyone is interested in reading, send me an LJ message with your email address and I'd be happy to grant access. If you want to help me point out potential issues, I have no problem granting the rights to edit, I just ask that the problems be highlighted and note what the issue is unless it's obvious like a typo or a semicolon should be in there instead of a comma or something. Just please highlight in some manner (like change text color or something like that). I did go ahead and note the major issues I am aware of in red text.

I just have to give some warnings as far as this goes:

1. If you haven't read my fic so far, it will make absolutely no sense. I'm starting from chapter 35, the previous 34 chapters are on ff.net (though the majority are also on dA, if anyone wants to read it there, let me know and I'll get off my butt and upload the last chapter already). The sheer number of changes to canon at this point in time is immense, while I can sum up what has happened so far, it is better to just read it, and it's not exactly short, the previous stuff spans 329 pages in my word document.

2. This is pretty much unedited except for me catching the vast majority of typos that Word caught. I'm not saying this is going to be a mess of bad spelling and grammar (though there will be grammar problems, I"m far from perfect there), but there are some very blatant issues. An idea of what to expect is stuff like not all dialogue being marked as to who said what or things not being worded well. I know clear wording is sometimes a fault of mine and would appreciate any assistance in pointing out spots that could use to be clearer.

3. There are only scene breaks, no chapter breaks. It is also very possible that scenes may need to be added and there are at least two scenes marked as needing to be finished if I recall right. If there is any case where something is mentioned and it's not explained in a previous scene that isn't marked as needing finished, feel free to tell me, that way I can either explain it better or add a new scene in. I did mark a few spots where I suspected there may be an issue.

4. Last scene will end very abruptly. I've been adding on to the second file as I type more.

If knowing all that anyone here still wants to read, just drop me a line via an LJ message or you can also IM me since the vast majority of my flist has my AIM or MSN.

Also speaking of IM, if anyone doesn't have my AIM, MSN or Yahoo and wants it, let me know. My AIM id is actually pretty obvious, I'm sure anyone can guess it because I'm very unoriginal. If you are more original than me though, just let me know who you are so I don't think you're a spammer or a weirdo, ok? I prefer to keep my Yahoo and MSN to being shared via private messages however. This is only because those require contact list addition to message someone and if I don't recognize a username, I tend to get paranoid and refuse.
