To continue the last post about work and the lovely nightmare that has been the past few weeks, now it seems that I was right, that damn schedule causes insomnia, which is really the last thing I need anymore.

Basically put, I called in to work on Sunday because I still wasn't able to sleep at 7am when I had to be in at 11am, and this was even taking something known to cause drowsiness so I could sleep.

Oh, that was a lovely mistake, I was completely out of it by the time I had to leave. The supervisor I spoke with got a good giggle when I screwed up my employee id. Oddly, once I called in, I slept the best I had in a long time until about 7pm. Had no problems the next night either, since it was a day off.

Now it's 8am and I'm supposed to be in at noon and it looks like I'm having a repeat of this, except minus the sleeping pill, because I'm not repeating that one again.

So I just decided at 9 I'm going to go in, hand them my badge, grab my stuff and just quit. I really can't totally afford it, but I also can't afford health issues due to lack of sleep. I'm going in at 9 because I know my supervisor will be there and I can shove in her face that I was right from when I first told her this schedule sucked and she told me "don't worry, they'll fix it, that wasn't supposed to be your schedule" Yeah right.

I just so love basically being given no choice. I know me well enough to know that no matter what, I'll probably end up totally tired and incoherent around 2pm today, since that would be when I've been up for 24 hours. Around then my body just tells me it's had enough and I'm sleeping. Well, sleeping at work is a fireable offense, and my calling in today would get me fired.

So yeah, pretty much am down to quit or be fired today, joy. Wish me luck at finding something remotely decent within the month, because that's probably about the longest I can go without a paycheck (because I'm very good at being frugal after 3 years of living in San Diego).
