Well, I've gotten the idea that maybe I should post more often...

That way maybe some folks can get to know me better, especially new folks to my f-list.

Honestly, I admit, I don't post often because I feel my life is seriously boring. Unlike most, I'm not in school, so I don't have stuff like that to post about. While I do have employment now, I don't start training anytime soon, so I'm still jobless. So yeah, boring.

But then, never did mention to most people about how I did find a job. Though I do need to find temporary holiday work or something to cover expenses in the meantime. The job I got is going to be selling life and health insurance to senior citizens. It has preset appointments, about 4-5 per day. As long as I make the quota, I can expect to make $1,500 a week from commissions alone, plus have expenses reimbursed, etc. Only drawback is that for at least a month, I'll be working 12-14 hour days, after that it will drop to about 10 hour days 4 days out of the week with some meetings and paperwork on Mondays.

Though I admit, the idea of working a fully commission based job kinda freaks me out. Last time I had a job like that, I failed miserably and made no money at all. This seems slightly easier because at least the appointments will be prescreened for interest and being able to afford the product. It is a product needed by the market the company sells to. Guess I'll have to see how it goes. But for now, do need some temporary holiday work, because I'm running low on funds, just wish I could get up earlier so I can actually apply at some places. Unemployment definitely makes the sleep schedule weird.

And for anyone curious about how NaNo is going, I'm doubting I'm going to make my goal of 100k words, but I did make the NaNo goal of 50k words already. But when it's come to the fact that to write anything in the past few days, I ended up writing random of guys cross dressing, yeah I've got the idea that I'm pretty much stuck. Once chapters have edits done, I'll start posting them to ff.net. Chapter 35 is a huge mess though, so don't expect it really soon.

One thing that has been fun the past week or so is all the RPs. While [livejournal.com profile] rippling_tides has been a bit on the slow side, it's still going and I'm still having fun (I play Cantabile and Noelle there). I'm definitely having a blast with [livejournal.com profile] abyssianmelody which just started recently. I'm playing Jade and Balir in [livejournal.com profile] abyssianmelody. Balir was a blast to work into that. Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] great_brittania and the whole "Balir is Guy!" thing we have on the Tales forum, I thought to make Balir a relative of Guy's, rather than apping for Guy since someone else wanted him. Of course he's quite a bit older than Guy (by 16 years is what I put down), but he'll be fun as a God-General. Our poor Guy though, he's so going to be tormented a lot, and it isn't going to help that he has two lookalikes running around too (someone is apping Flynn as Guy's replica).

If anyone else is into RP, would be fun to see you guys in either of those. Both are pretty laid back in requirements, pretty much you just have to be willing to write.

So thought I'd post something not a rant or a meme :)

I personally would also be terrified to work on a commission-basis; it just seems really risky (especially for someone like me, who just doesn't really work well person-to-person). In any case, 10-12 hour workdays can be a pain (I still think 8 is a lot at my current job, and once I switch jobs it'll be about a ten hour day), 'cause I like free time. So if your job is tiring for that month period, just lemme know and you can take a small break in [livejournal.com profile] abyssianmelody. (Thanks for the plug, btw :) Glad you're enjoying yourself.)

To be quite honest, I personally think Balir was a great idea to expand the Abyss universe (especially with an Eternia character!). You had a lot of great ideas, and I'm also glad that Dessa's on the team, so I'm glad there was a solution to let both of your ideas come into the RP.

I'm sorry to hear that you're not going to be able to do your own personal NaNo goal (and sorry if RPing took away from that). You seemed to be doing really well from the first third of the month, when you reached half of your goal. You've probably already heard of those fanfic100 prompts, but just in case, those tend to give some random ideas.

Well, work is work, I guess. In the meantime, it's something to earn money from until you can find another job. That's how I look at it with mine.

All you NaNoWriMo people are really frigging amazing for even trying to write 100K words in a month. That's... a lot! Even if you don't end up with quite that much in the end, it's still awesome that you put forth the effort and got as much done as you did. :D

I read through the source material for Cantabile somewhat recently, too--she seems at least somewhat developed for an unused character. Weird. You'd think she'd have been mentioned in passing or something.
