Long update
This is going to be a bit on the long side so going to LJ cut for everyone's sanity.
Well first should mention to anyone who IMs me that my typing should be much improved since I remembered that I had a desktop keyboard in my car left over from a computer I tried to fix and turned out to basically be scrap (old win 98 machine, OS wouldn't load, CD drive busted, monitor busted, owner opted for new computer). Yeah, it's annoying to have an external for a laptop, but my e key is now popping off and a few other keys aren't wanting to type either now. My laptop's keyboard definitely needs replacing and that's not exactly cheap even if I do it myself (and honestly, I'm not very confident with laptop hardware repairs, I'd rather have someone who has experience with them do it and pay the extra).
Only annoying thing is that the keyboard wire loves knocking everything off my desk when I put the laptop on the desk nightly, ugh. That and I keep having to pick out bits of leaves from it since my car windows were busted for so long. Oh well, at least it works, that's the important thing.
As far as the job goes, the other one didn't work out very well and the day I said I couldn't deal with it anymore due to financial troubles I got a call from another place I had applied and got hired the next day. So for the time being I'm working at Wal-Mart again (different store than last time though, means a bit further of a drive, but at least the managers aren't asses). Only issue I have with it is that I wish I was paid more, but at least it pays and its more than I was paid the last time I worked there. I'm not too pleased that they ignored my commenting multiple times that I would love to work overnights (which also pays more) and put me on evenings, but at least they have me in a position close to what I asked for. Basically I get to stock merchandise in the grocery area and spend a good deal of time in the back room. Not a bad deal overall.
But in March I plan to go inquire again about a position that starts at $9.50 an hour and I was told would be hiring again in March. Wal-Mart is meant to be temporary.
And finally things are looking better. My roommate was able to work some wonders with the electric and gas bills and get an extension until the 28th when he gets his school money. I get paid on Friday, so we should finally be able to get somewhat caught up on the bills and I can start paying him back then.
So yay for no more needing to sell stuff to get by, though I do appreciate the people who did help me out in my last post. Seriously, that was the difference between my being able to get to work and eat until I do get paid, and you guys got stuff in the bargain. I sent off the last one earlier.
And that leads to my rant about the post office. For one of the items, it was being sent internationally, and I'm not familiar with rates, so I checked the website and called USPS customer service to help me get an estimate on shipping.
Of course, that estimate turned out to be very far off. I'm not too pleased about this, because honestly that means I pay the difference out of my own pocket because I'm not going to ask the buyer for the difference even though I did make the effort to research rates. Of course, no one mentioned that the post office was going to increase rates soon and I should keep that in mind and the shipping was delayed because Paypal for some reason didn't send an email saying the invoice was paid also, so I didn't even know it was paid until two days after.
Personally, I'm growing to hate the US postal service even more now. It's bad enough that many times I receive my packages late if at all because of their ineptitude. I've had many problems receiving paper bills also (have had to go to receiving emailed bills as often as possible). Who knows, my W-2 that I should get any day now and would also be a big help to me may be lost because of them being idiots. Of course, I have to wait until the end of the month before I can go bitch at my old work to resend it. Gotta love how everyone waits til the last minute to send those. I always get a refund and the money is very helpful to me. In years where I didn't work the whole year I usually get around $700 back, so I'm hoping to use that to get caught up on bills and perhaps even buy myself a treat since I had to use my birthday and xmas money for food. Yes, an Xbox 360 is high on my list of things to get once I'm somewhat caught up. I want to finish Vesperia already, and I want to buy that before I do quit with Wal-Mart so I can enjoy the employee discount.
Anyway, am rambling a lot, so that's it for this long update. At least it didn't take forever to type because this old keyboard works pretty good considering its been in my car for a year.

no subject
'cause if it is, I can pay the difference. How much was it?
